AK NOME 00-16

NOME, AK Nome lies about 150 miles south of the Arctic Circle on the southern shore of the Seward Peninsula, and has a subarctic climate. The habitat around Nome is primarily open tundra and low growing willows, with the Kigluaik Mountain range to the North. In June the sun barely dips below the horizon allowing nearly 24 hour daylight.
