STONINGTON, CT University of Connecticut researchers conduct studies of nesting Saltmarsh Sparrows (Ammodramus caudacutus) and Seaside Sparrows (Ammodramus maritimus) at Barn Island State Park. The research is part of SHARP (Saltmarsh Habitat and Avian Research Program), a multi-institutional project studying the ecology and conservation of birds in tidal marshes on the Atlantic coast.
